Tetra Tech Wins $62 Million U.S. EPA START Region 7 Contract

PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 12, 2005--Tetra Tech, Inc. (NASDAQ:TTEK - News) announced today that it was awarded a Superfund Technical Assessment & Response Team (START) contract with a maximum value of $61.7 million. The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 7 has a three-year base period and two two-year options.

Tetra Tech will provide professional support services to EPA On-Scene Coordinators and other federal officials implementing EPA's responsibilities under the national response system, which is the principal federal mechanism for responding to releases of hazardous substances and oil. Work will be performed primarily in EPA Region 7; however, Tetra Tech will also provide support for cross-regional, national and international responses.

Tetra Tech will support the START program by providing 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week, year-round emergency response assistance. The START program addresses releases of hazardous substances and oil, terrorist attacks, and federal disasters involving releases of chemical, biological or nuclear agents. Additionally, Tetra Tech will support EPA's removal program and preparedness and prevention programs, including training, exercises, risk management plans, audits, and contingency planning. The program also supports Oil Pollution Act related activities, site assessments, Brownfields, pre-remedial programs, and other technical support.
