Tetra Tech is a leading international multidisciplinary environmental, engineering, and planning firm that offers excellent benefits and exciting career development prospects. Tetra Tech office is currently seeking a motivated environmental scientist intern to provide on-site administrative and program support for a client based in Riverside, California. Experience with Clean Water Act compliance, specifically the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program, experience or background in livestock agriculture or dairy science, and/or experience in nutrient management are a plus. This is a temporary, contract position that will range from 10 to 40 hours per week starting in July, 2007 and ending in December, 2008. The candidate must have a valid drivers license in the state of California. Field work may be required. This position supports a range of environmental projects and requires a professional with the demonstrated ability to work well with others as a member of the team as well as working efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision.
Required skills: The successful candidate will have a background in environmental science, environmental policy, or a related discipline. The preferred candidate will possess superior abilities in verbal communication, technical writing, organization, working independently, and managing multiple tasks concurrently. Proficiency (not familiarity) with standard word processing, spreadsheet and database applications is essential. Those who are extremely responsive, enthusiastic, communicative, and willing to learn new skills are highly desirable.
